This site is meant to introduce you to the Toronto that you do not see on postcards or calendars. There are communities in Toronto that do not receive recognition from the media, politicians or from people that do not live there. The Inner City has been established to introduce you to these neighbourhoods in and around Toronto and provide you with a perspective of the city that is more than the CN Tower and Yonge Street. The blog is changed everyday so be sure to check it out regularly.

Dirty Dirty

This truck was near the BT guys the other morning, I have no idea why. I heard they said something about me Friday morning but I didn't wake up early enough that day to watch the program, basically because I had no school that yesterday. That may account for my highest hit count to date. Thanks BT and Pulse24! {April 20th, 2006} O_x

BT

I caught these guys Highland Farms on Dufferin this morning. The Breakfast Television guys are the coolest, they actually posed for me and put on real smiles! {April 20th, 2006}

Last Tuesday on my way home I noticed someone had shattered most of the glass walls of the bus shelter. It was fixed today. {April 12th, 2006}

Downhill

{April 8th, 2006} O_x

This abandoned mall @ Finch & Weston is a testimony to this neighbourhoods downhill slid. Where the barrels sit is where a gas station stood.

In the middle of the abandoned plaza's parking lot.

An empty lot on Toryork.

The unofficial path from Emery high school to the old McDonalds, now probably used more to get the the stores at Finch and Weston.

The old staircase from Weston to the old McDonalds

An unofficial footpath from Weston to the old plaza. Those not in cars often have to make their own unpaved paths to avoid long detours.

Legendary McDonalds

Everyone knows this McDonalds. This is the one at Finch and Weston that stood proud over the valley. Now its direlect derelect along with the mall beside it. But the franchise did move down the street so all is not lost for the Mciddies loving people. But this is another sad image in this neighbourhood that has so much potential. Toronto's Official Plan and specific Secondary Plan calls for residential uses on this entire site that includes the abandoned mall. Commercial opportunities will also exist to make it more diverse and economically stable so it won't fall apart again. That is many years away but hopefully it will be for the better. {April 8th, 2006} O_x

whats wrong

What's wrong with this picture?! The billboard says Keeping Toronto clean is up to all of us, but they cut down this tree and others in this community @ Finch and Weston Road, aka Emery. For some reason a lot of trees around here have been cut down for a purpose I am not aware of. This neighbourhood is seriously messed up, you'll see soon... on the way to ACC

Yesterday was a depressing day despite the nice weather, clear sky and good Raptor tickets. The day could have been better but fate never favours me. Not because the Raptors didn't win (they're already out of playoff contention so who cares), not because they didn't even score 100 points for me to get free pizza (that really sucked), but rather other reasons. I only got two good pics yesterday on the way to the game. {Sunday, April 9th, 2006} O_x

Outside the Air Canada Centre, a new condominium tower, the 'Rogers Centre' and the CN Tower.

A medical building on University Avenue, north of Dundas West, as I wait for a streetcar. The Dundas streetcar makes you feel like your actually in China, probably because they travel between Chinatown 1 at Spadina and Chinatown 2 at Broadview.
